About

Embrace The Darkness

Extreme metal has long had a healthy appreciation of orchestral and folk music, but few have taken the final step to both embrace and contrast these genres with a sophisticated take on black metal.  Winnipeg's Noire have achieved this in spades.

Noire's music demands a full and immersive listen, weaving around a central pillar of majestic metal which draws from Enslaved and Opeth in influence, while the softer moments recall Agalloch's experimentation.  Broad-chested chants blend with snarls and fierce guitar lines.

After building a reputation around Manitoba, Noire have since expanded their influence across Canada, including Quebec Metal Fest, Calgary Metal Fest, Farmageddon, and Black Mourning Light in Edmonton.  A hand full of festival dates are locked in for later this year, including ShrEdmonton and Armstrong Metal Festival.

While raspy vocals and blast-y beats come along for the ride, the album's driver seat, engine and satellite navigation system are filled entirely by the intense string performances.” -  Decible Magazine

Noire, one of Canada's hardest working black metal bands, are an awesome band with an awesome album, it is no wonder they are making a name for themselves. - Crown Of Viserys
